Strike Comments
We have had some quite shocking reports about today’s ‘strike’ at Parkview. We have only posted a few as for once the Mail does seem to be posting many negative comments and we do not want to repeat their postings. If you would like your say then post it on our forum and it will be unedited for all to see. We are going to look in to some of the messages we have as they show what desperate attempts the Council are willing to go to to push this through in the face of overwhelming public opinion!
‘Alfred Barrow kids were locked in the School today to stop any of them attempting to join the demonstration. Thorncliffe tried to prevent their pupils as well though some still managed to protest’. Surely that is not legal!
‘The bosses of the County Council have told staff not to make ANY comment on the Academy debate, they cannot even express a personal opinion to anybody without the threat of action being taken against them’. Any of these staff wishing to make an anonymous statement, please contact us.
‘The only teachers that were not in support of the children are the ones with cushy jobs in the Academy already, if it had been a couple of weeks ago they too would have been behind the kids’
‘For a management team that states there will be no bullying within its walls, it has made a very poor start. First Moira Swann threatened to suspend all senior staff and take over the running of the School, Gordon Wilson who has NO authority at Parkview told the pupils they will not strike then Police and teachers taunted the pupils! Seems like this is the place to go TO be bullied!’ With chants of Blackledge out and ignoring the vice-principal, the authority of the new management is failing already.
'The teachers at Parkview are undeserving of the courageous and determined stand being taken on their behalf by their pupils.
The teachers could have shown solidarity by legitimately staging a one-day strike fully backed by their unions and professional associations but they showed themselves to be incapable of taking any action even to save their own jobs - so how could they possibly be expected to support their pupils?
What a gutless, spineless and utterly unworthy set of creatures you appear to be! Shame on you all.
