Moira and cronies are off spouting words again about how ‘the silent majority’ should get their way and not the ‘vociferous minority’. Who the hell would even bother to say those words? If the majority was for the Academy then surely there would be a campaign to support it wouldn’t there? We have always asked for people to express their views whichever side they support, yet we have never had ANY messages of support. If you do support these views then please get in touch and we will post your views.  This woman is so out of touch and so focussed on pushing through her plans on us that she has bent the rules, if not broken the law along the way.

“Walney, for example, is an excellent school in its own right.” She says.

If this is the case why did she have the full OFSTED inspection due by law last September deferred?  

The answer to this is because if the inspection had happened then the school would have been placed in special measures. This then would have scuppered the plans for the academy. Due to reasons regarding education in the area. WALNEY IS A FAILING SCHOOL!! The last full OFSTED was in 2001 and the last mini inspection in 2007 expressed concerns.

Having spoken to staff at the school it is clear that there is no clear leadership, the SLT are ineffective at best. Instead of actually making decisions and making rules they pass decisions of discipline down to lower ranks who are unable to give effective punishment. When they do, other members of staff often overrule the decision as it might cause disruption to their lessons.

Talking to a person that works in all schools at times we had this:

“Alfs is rough but under the circumstances you kinda expect that. Walney is absolute anarchy. I counted ten children sent out of one class as I stood nearby. Once the door was closed on them they proceeded to run around causing disruption in other classes and in the corridors. Senior teachers walked past these scenes and just ignored them totally. Uniform here seems to consist of tracksuit bottoms, trainers, baseball cap and occasionally a school tshirt. Compare this to Parkview, UVHS or even Thorncliffe. At any other school you would not get any kids in corridors between lessons other than those on errands or being very quiet and still and in at least 90% uniform, Walney has 90% of kids out of uniform. I would not have a child of mine set one foot through the door of that hell hole”.

From a resident of Black Butts Lane:

“You would not believe how hard faced those kids are! There is a cloud of smoke above the entrance in the mornings, lunch and finishing time. I watch staff walking through the smokers at times and nothing is ever said about it. Surely the headmaster is not so stupid that he does not know what is going on is he?”

From a teacher.

“Last September we expected an inspection at some time through the winter term as it was already overdue, we were ready for once with all the lesson plans in place, we never have them normally, and were so p***ed off when they (the inspectors) never turned up! All that extra work (work that is supposed to be done regardless) went down the drain for nothing.”

Says it all really doesn’t it?

How has Moira managed to break government procedures though? How come Walney has avoided inspections required by law? Why is a failing school been left to flounder and sink deeper? Why is this woman still being allowed to lie to parents saying she has their childrens  best interests at heart when this is clearly untrue. This is all so wrong wrong wrong.
